They serve mainly fortune 500 customers in the process industry for base chemicals, fine and specialty chemicals and the pharmaceutical industry. Supply Chain Manager (m/w)

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement
  • Develop and implement global strategic procurement plans for 80´s supplier
  • Optimization of the entire supply chain with the goal of reliability and sustainability of all relevant processes and interfaces
  • Improvement of supplier quality / validation process (PPAP)
  • Professional contract negotiation and contract management at national and international level
  • Applying or implementing continuous improvement, standards, tools and (lean) procedures in supply chain management, processes and technology to determine quality, deadlines, cost reduction and sustainability
  • Creating and evaluating key figure analyses for the continuous optimization of processes
  • Drive inventory optimization and optimization of material related warehousing, distribution and logistics cost
  • Outsourcing strategy in line with external logistic / packaging
  • Control and improve stock levels / obsolete stock levels

Organisation & Leadership
  • Responsibility for Purchasing, Material Planning, Warehousing, internal Transportation
  • Coaching and supporting direct reports
  • Maintain an effective and constructive employee relations climate
  • Build cooperation and teamwork within the department
  • Ensure effective communication at all levels


Your Profile

Professional Background
  • Completed university degree in engineering or equivalent technical management education
  • 5-8 years in supervisor role within global world-class production manufacturers
  • Fluent language skills in German and English
  • Knowledge of other European languages would be an asset

Competencies
  • Demonstrate ability to take the lead and manage a department according to service goals by launching improvement strategies, e.g. Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to identify opportunities to strengthen the team
  • Keep abreast with the state of the art improvement strategies, methods and tools
  • Ability to act as coach/mentor for direct reports
  • Used to improve his own capabilities / skills continuously by demanding feed-back on a regular base
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial driven
  • Used to work under time and budget constraints and is able to manage large quantities of information effectively
  • “Service” oriented as internal resource to the business
